After disembarking and lunching at Yichang, province of Hubei, we flew to the world famous cosmopolitan city Shanghai, the largest city of China by population, located in the Yangtze River Delta, bordering the provinces of Jiangsu and Zhejiang.
The day my group spent in Shanghai was also pouring. Thanks to my friend Shirley who lives there, instead of staying in the city centre, I got a chance to visit one of the nearby water towns, Zhujiajiao, thinking that a water town was more suitable for this kind of weather and atmosphere. When we came back, we had time for a quick photo stop in a small but unique shopping area of Shanghai - Tianzifang, which was transformed and re-designed based on the architecture of this ancient neighbourhood.
Dear Denise - Zhujiajiao is an atmospheric water town. Thanks for your lovely photos that bring back memories of my visit in 2011. Kind regards from Maureen
