On Thursday we drove from Riga to Vilnius, and toured the city before joining the group on Friday night. At shabbat dinner, we met the group leaders (and the group) in person for the first time. After four hours, we were family. Every family had family members that lived and died in Kupiskis -- a town with so few inhabitants that it is extremely unlikely that all of the families not blood relatives at some level. Even those of us who had married into a Kupisker family felt the affinity.
