In the Philippines, liver cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths, with the hepatitis-b virus responsible for up to 90% of these occurences. So, a timely hepatitis-b vaccine is a simple & cost-effective deterrent to a life-time of liver ailments. Unfortunately, many chidren from poor communities like Payatas can't afford the cost of the vaccine.

And although the government has stepped-up their vaccination efforts, funding and compliance are wanting. Fr. Aldrin estimates we need to immunize 3,000 children in his parish. We are actively raising funds to immunize children between the ages 0-9.
