In 2005 we invited Dr. Mary Chua, past president of the Philippine Pediatric Society, to assess how best to help the children of Payatas. The direct result was the establishment of 19 home-based clinics scattered through-out the community, run by volunteer-mothers based on the World Health Organization's IMCI program.

Each clinic is equipped with basic medication and a nebulizer needed for pediatric first aid. Volunteer-mothers were trained to recognize, treat, and orient "new mothers" on the proper care of their children. We are deeply indebted to Dr. Chua for her continuing support and training of these volunteer-mothers.
