Who tells their story
Each heart dedicated to someone who died of the pandemic. A loving and sad reminder.

Hamilton!
Since we are not allowed to photograph the stage, here's the gorgeous ceiling detail of Victoria Palace Theatre.

Haircut
A bit of old style London still survives in Borough Market.

Bridges
I highly recommend walking along the Thames at night. The bridges there are beautifully lit and it's a wonderful way to absorb the vibes of this amazing city.

Monopoly board
A lot of London is explained on the Monopoly board. Those who play the London version of Monopoly would recognise this train station :)

London's V&A Design Museum is not to be missed. Stylish and quirky.

Neal's Yard
London's theatre district has been spruced up and this part of it was particularly vibrant and energetic. I love London for this reason, it keeps reinventing itself but it's still comfortingly familiar.

Standing still
Time in London stands still yet at the same time it doesn't. Life moves on at a brisk pace yet when I revisit old haunts like the British Museum, I feel the same sense of wonder as I did the first time I stepped in.
What is different now is that the iPhone has come to a level that I no longer need to carry my camera equipment everywhere I go.
This was in September 2023 when the weather turned surprisingly hot. Sought refuge in the British Museum only to find that most of it wasn't air conditioned 😂

Red
Phone booths opposite All Bar One, how can one resist the temptation to photograph a common icon of London?
14-JUN-2006
Green Man
Taken in front of Planet Hollywood, London, this was perhaps the most intense street performer I've seen.

Dali's elephant
A replica of of the elephant that is being displayed at the Dali Exhibition, County Hall. Since Dali is into surrealism, it would not have been fitting to take a conventional photo of this jumbo.

By the river side
Walking towards Tower Bridge, I witnessed a stunning sunset. Here it is. And because it was so glorious, I did the unthinkable in London, which was to actually slow down, stop, and enjoy watching a leisurely, breathtaking sunset from Tower Bridge.
Drama at St Paul's
The clouds were amazing that day. Taken at St Paul's Cathedral, looking upwards. This image was originally taken in colour and upon post processing, I think less colour says more.

Another dramatic moment at St Pauls
I had chosen to visit St Paul's on the wrong day, it unfortunately clashed with the Queen's visit (who chose to worship on a Tuesday, unlike the rest of the Christian population - in order to celebrate her 80th birthday). No complaints however, it was a gorgeous day, the kind which would have been too nice to be spent indoors.

Shad Thames
To Poorna and Anup, for loads of wonderful parties and memories at Cinnamon Wharf.

High flight
Taken at the London Eye, a project sponsored by British Airways, it was only appropriate to photograph it with an aircraft in the background.

Waiting for Marion
Taken at Liverpool Street Station, which I think is the prettiest of the London railway stations.
11-JUN-2006
Serious clowns
Round the corner from the Covent Garden tube station, I caught these clowns in somewhat of a quiet moment.

If Van Gogh had a camera...
... imagine how much time he would have saved!
Taken along the Serpentine.
To Michel, this is my first and last attempt at taking flowers.

Here's one I made earlier
In the midst of cleaning up my hard drive, I came across this photo of St Paul's cathedral in London - one I forgot to post earlier. I have a soft spot for blue skies and clouds, so here goes.

"Turn to jelly"
One of the display windows at Selfridges, always a delight to watch. I personally prefer their no holds barred Christmas displays, very festive!
My perfect day!
And what a day it was! The weather was fabulous. The clouds were unreal, it seemed to be set for the opening credits of "The Simpsons"!
This view of St Paul's was taken from the viewing deck at the Tate Modern.

Meanwhile, in another part of London...
Covent Garden basking in a wave of glorious sunshine.
Though at first glance, the similarity to the Liverpool Street Station above is quite striking.
13-JUN-2006
Graffiti
As seen from Tower Bridge, I wonder if the author intended for it to be photographed.
11-JUN-2006
Solitary couple
Managed to catch these tourists in a quiet moment in Covent Garden.
11-JUN-2006
Menuhin wannabe
One of the quartet members at Covent Garden. He MUST have known that he was being photographed!
16-JUN-2006
Landmarks
Probably one of the most photographed in the world, I succumbed to temptation and decided to do a conventional shot of this one.
11-JUN-2006
Soho Square
At one time, said to be the most prestigious address in London
11-JUN-2006
Quartet
Taken at Covent Garden, different faces for the string quartet, but same arrangement of pieces as has been played for years! London is comforting in the sense that things somehow remain constant.
Watchful
At the side of St Paul's Cathedral
City life
A product of London's square mile.

Mamma Mia!
No photographic value to this one, but had been waiting for years to get to see this musical. It was worth the wait!

Millennium Bridge

What else is there to say about one of the main icons of London?

Balance
Statue of Eros by day, rising above the crowd at Picadilly Circus
11-JUN-2006
Water on stone
On a sweltering day in Trafalgar Square. The famous lions were undergoing a cosmetic touch up, and that was when I realised that many other statues in the square were actually very nice and had been largely overlooked.
11-JUN-2006
Splits and stabs
I decided to break away from my usual style of keeping the composition simple, this is one of organised chaos.
Replica of the some of the works found at the Dali exhibit, by the London Eye.
13-JUN-2006
Sunset at Tower Hill
One of those lazy lengthy sunsets on a summer evening.
16-JUN-2006
White feathers
Taken at the Serpentine, on a day which I decided to forget all the famous landmarks in London and just spend a day in the park.
Doing a runner
It's amazing how much activity goes on at the Millennium Bridge.
Turbine Hall
At the Tate Modern - Benoit and Claire, thanks for persuading me to drop by there.
Oh joy!!!
Little Rayan at Russell Square. Marion, you're truly amazing.

Cooling down
At Trafalgar Square. Had I been a kid, I would probably have jumped in as well to cool down.

Have a break
