Ochre Court and Cliff Walk
The setting for some of Newport's most lavish parties of the Gilded Age.
Commissioned by Nevada silver heiress Theresa Fair Oelrichs in 1899, architect Stanford White modeled Rosecliff after the Grand Trianon, the garden retreat of French kings at Versailles.
The house was completed in 1902.
Scenes from several films have been shot on location at Rosecliff, including The Great Gatsby, True Lies and Amistad.
Today, Rosecliff can be rented for weddings, receptions, and other private events.
Rosecliff is owned by the Preservation Society of Newport County.

A wonderful gallery of this fabulous place, Bill.
The opulence of some people's lifestyles never ceases to amaze me!
No place better in the summer than Newport RI.
Actually, the whole state of Rhode Island is the best summer place in the USA. !!
