On 23 October 2004, Rowan and myself went hiking around Mount Cobbler in the Alpine National Park. We drove on a rough track for 30km from Whitfield and reached the start of the hike near Lake Cobbler. The hike to the summit of Mount Cobbler was supposed to be easy but we did not locate the track so we bush bashed to the summit, sustaining quite a few cuts on our legs.
There are good views of the surrounding mountains from the summit of Mount Cobbler. The unique shape of the summit and the views were well worth the effort. We also managed to find 3 geocaches along the way.
