Howitt High Summits Hike

On 8 January 2005, Rach, Ian, Pete and myself did the Howitt High Summits overnight camping trip. We camped at Upper Howqua Camping Area the night before and started early in the morning on the 8 Jan. We traversed up the challenging Helicopter Spur, passing two Picture Points along the way and reached Mount Magdala (1725m). We spent the night at Hellfire Creek Campsite.

On day two, we hiked up to the summits of Big Hill (1658m) and Mount Howitt (1742m), then reached highest point of Crosscut Saw. After that, it was a relatively easy hike along the Stanley Names Spur back to the Upper Howqua Camping Area, the end of the walk.

This is certainly one of the best hike I've done.
