On 20 November 2004, Ian, Rachael, Michael, John and myself went hiking up the West Ridge of Mount Buller (1805m ASL) from Forest Creek Headwater. After that, we drove to Telephone Box Junction and hiked to Mount Stirling. (1747m ASL) It was a tough day of hiking with a combined climb of 1300m but we were rewarded with the great views from the top of these peaks.
That area about Mount Stirling is great and such a cool place. Refuge hut is a great place to hold up and let bad weather blow through. Thanks for bringing back some great memories of the area.
