Getting out of the Rain 05_06_05.jpg

These two Mule Deer bucks were in a neighbors yard under some trees and shrubs bedded down out of the rain. I spent about five minutes snapping their pictures and got kind of soaked. Seeing deer, elk, moose and other wildlife is one of the nice things about living so near the mountains.

Here is a news story from the local paper about a young mountain lion in one of our neighbors yards. We see sign of cougars in our yard every so often; but, I have never seen one. I keep hoping http://www.heraldextra.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=54345&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0

Ian, It wasn't raining real hard so really I didn't worry to much about the camera getting wet. The lens is sealed. The camera got wet but not soaked...no harm no foul.

Great shot Bill, I have a huge soft spot for my local deer, they often feature in my PAD... I've gotten soaked several times just watching them, but don't trust the wet and my camera!! How did you protect your 20D against the rain?

Great shot, what we photgraphers go through to get the shot.

Nice shot Bil1. The greens really pop when it is wet but a wet photographer can be very uncomfortable. I have some of the same flowers in my yard.

the shot is beautiful and the detail great.

They seem alert to something... aren't deer always :) I like the detail in the hide

Beautiful shot....they seemed to be quite content to stay dry, while you got wet, but it was worth it!

Very pretty shot. The deer seem to be watching something very intently. I tried for weeks to find a black bear that was roaming around my area - surprising for somewhere as built up as this - but it was captured before I saw it.
