Crown Bay Marina in Charlotte Amalie, St.Thomas. June 1, 2009 We landed around 3 afternoon and took a taxi to Crown Bay Marina to meet David, our host and skipper. The first surprise was the unique traffic convention: They drive cars made for right hand traffic on the left side of the road! Getting to the taxi was an adventure on its own, we were send from one taxi to another. All drivers seemed to be Africans and they quickly switched between English and a sort of a Caribbean dialect, which has developed on these islands. |
