Autumn Along Scenic Highway 395

I'm sure you've all had trips that are doomed from the start. That was this trip for me. I headed out looking for some
Autumn colors in the Eastern Sierras, and found high winds that blew all the pretty leaves off the trees, a snow storm
that froze everything and closed Tioga pass so I couldn't get through to my prepaid photo workshop, which became a moot
point when MY CAR BROKE DOWN, to the tune of 4 days in the shop and some costly repairs. I did manage a couple of shots,
but between the wind and 2 degree temps in the mountains, autumn colors all but disappeared. About the only good thing that
happened on this ill-fated trip, was when I was able to talk the Highway Patrolman out of giving me the speeding ticket!

Superb images of your ill-fated trip, Sandi. You'll have these to remember the good parts. Last time I was at Mono Lake it was Summer and the flies were very bad. Winter is a good time to go to avoid them. :) I'm glad you made it safely back. Best regards, Dick:)

Sometimes a trip is not a trip but an adventure... This is an Adventure you'll look back on in time and laugh about. I love Adventures that don't kill you. They remind me to not sweat the small stuff. No worries.... Images came out great and there are always more workshops to adventure to.

Beautiful gallery, Sandi! Like your story also and yes I, like others, can relate! We were hung up for three days in North Dakota this past October on the way to Yellowstone b/c of an early blizzard! Needless to say, it really cut our trip short. Your galleries always have such beautiful colors! V
