The trek around Manaslu (8163 m) in central Nepal has become a very popular in recent years. In a sense it replaced the classic Annapurna circuit, after the latter lost some of its appeal due to road constructions shortening the typical Nepal Himalaya trekking experience.

The trek is not too difficult, the lodges are quite comfortable (as of 2025), with hot water and internet access in almost all the villages.
