The First Polish Astro-Imaging Tenerife Expedition

In 2006, a team of 4 Polish amateur astronomers decided to arrange a trip to the Tenerife Island - well known among astronomers for the clear, dark skies and access to many southern objects, otherwise not visible from Poland. The chosen location - Parador Hotel in the Teide Caldera - offers great hospitality and astronomy-friendly environment, with no outside lights after 10PM.

At 2300m altitude, the air is clean and dry - no risk of dew, although experiencing extreme temperature swings between T-shirt daytime temperatures of up to 30C at day and "feather-jacket" sub-freezing at night (the lowest on our record was -5C).
