Blue rocks are an interesting rock formation within short walking trip from the hotel. Many of the rocks are blue-tinted due to copper-rich minerals, left here by hot water percolating from hot mineral springs (now inactive).
We have taken few images looking from the cliffs down to the vast, lava covered plains on the caldera bottom - to the south-west.
There are also many interesting rock formations and boulders around.
The key living forms on the mountains are rabbits (we have seen none, but most of the meals offered in the hotel restaurant were based on a rabbit meat - apparently the cook did not venture far looking for "what to put in the pot").
There were many very colorful lizards. These were hiding quickly upon our approach, but after we sited for few minutes, they started to emerge from their holes, allowing some nice close-ups.
