Opened in 2014, the Fondation Louis Vuitton is the newest large museum in Paris. Funded mostly by billionaire Bernard Arnault, CEO of LVMH, it exhibits only contemporary arts, some from Arnault’s personal collection. The building is designed by architect Frank Gehry in his unique style with large glass “sails”. When we visited in June 2016, the 12 glass sails were covered with colored filters as part of the “Observatory of Light”, a large installation by Daniel Buren.
When we visited, we did not see any pieces from Arnault's collection. There was a large exhibit of contemporary arts from China.
