Jim Smiths Antique Airplane Collection

This is a totally private collection of airplanes. Jim Smith has one huge hangar to store them and another huge double hangar for his Bell Jet Ranger II helicopter and a maintenance bay on the other side. He has a very long paved private runway and a private 18 hole golf course here with a recreation of Stonehenge on it. His other home is in St. George Utah. All these planes except for maybe two are flyable, flown and impeccably maintained. One is the military jet with no wings! 3rd world countries still fly them so parts are very hard to get. We were given a tour of the collection along with the Puget Sound Antique Airplane club that did a stop over on a week long flying tour. It wasn't a "open to the public" event, but we didn't know and Jim graciously allowed us to stay. We knew some of the people flying in.

If you are interessted, my dad is working on 2 replicas of the Bleriot X1-2, the Military version. They gonna do the first flight this summer, and the other should be ready next summer. It could be a nice add to your collection.
