Two Old Duffers on Middle Palisade - Sept. 2006

Sam Valdez and I hadn't climbed anything more challenging than the stairs in a parking garage all year. It was getting close to the end of the climbing season so we packed up our gear and headed out to the High Sierra for a long weekend in September of 2006. Our intention was to climb Middle Palisade which, at 14,040 ft. (4279 m), is the eleventh tallest peak in California.

In retrospect, because of our advancing years, lack of conditioning, and general dufferitude we probably should have made it a five day trip with a rest day!
