Saturday night we were at Brainerd Lake. We spent the time pumping water, eating dinner, preparing our packs for the climb, and talking about Samuri movies and, of course, "Conan the Florist."

We talked to a couple of parties who were hiking out after climbing Mid-Pal on Friday. Their beta was that the route was clear so we left the rope, our crampons, and all our snow gear (except for our ice axes) at our high camp.

Sunday morning we set out early. This photo was taken while traversing some nice glacier polished slabs just below the base of the moraine.
