"A Celebration of Life" was a Trillium Gift of Life Network (Ontario, Canada) service honoring organ and tissue donors and their families. It was held at St. Michael;s Cathedral in Toronto and the large audience was about equally split between donors/donor families and organ and tissue recipients. Dr. Frank Markel, President & CEO of Trillium made the opening remarks which were followed by personal tributes from a donor mother, a donor father and an organ transplant recipient. A candle lighting ceremony was conducted by organ & tissue recipients, a donor mother, a donor family member and a living donor and a living transplant recipient. Scott Skinner, Family Services Adviser for Trillium was the Master of Ceremonies and Sue Wilson, Chair, Board of Directors gave the closing remarks and invited everyone to a reception where we could meet and greet and share our stories. All in all it was an emotional and magical evening.
