World's Biggest Walk 2008

The Worlds Biggest Walk for organ donation and transplantation was conceived by Australian transplant recipient Sophie Morell. It took place October 25th, 2008 in cities in more than 30 countries across five continents. Everyone started walking the 5km distance at the same time, 12 noon Greenwich Mean Time. In Toronto, where I participated, we started at 8 am sharp. In eastern Australia walkers started at 11 pm. So, everywhere in the world people were walking at exactly the same moment.
