Look Rock is a scenic overlook on the Foothills Parkway.

The Foothills Parkway just recently reopened. Large sections of the Parkway closed in middle 2003 due to massive storm damage to the roads.

Currently the Foothills Parkway is not a commuter road or a road that even connects any major roads. It is 97% a scenic only road, a country drive thru the mountain tops if you will. Currently it is broken into three sections with only one section driveable. One section sorta built that you can only walk on, not drive on. And a third section that I don't then has even been started.

One day all three sections will be connected and will lead to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. As a alternative way, or bypass, to enter the park without having to go thru speed traps of small towns and tight congested town roads that are at the "foothills" of the Great Smoky Mountains.
