WITNESSES OF FAITH

Poland is a country where you can see countless wayside crosses, figures of saints and tiny shrines. Due to the tradition people gather and pray near them. Some were built by monarchs to commemorate a victory in a battle, or in memory of some important events, others were put after big plagues or by poor inhabitants thanking God for help. All make people think about God while passing by.
In this gallery I would like to show small and bigger ones, wooden or made of stone. Some of them are really old. I hope you will find them as pretty and interesting as they are for me.

Very nice collection. If I go to Cozumel Mexico, to scuba dive this year, I will try to get a picture of a statue of Jesus under water off the coast and send it to you.

Yes, Jolka, Poland is a beautiful place and I enjoy seeing it through your eyes. I found the same traveling through the countryside--tradition is still an important part of the country and the people. And what can be more beautiful!!! Marijka

Very nice gallery. You have obviously spent quite a lot of time over the last several months compiling the gallery and done an excellent job. There is a definite symmetry among the pictures which adds greatly to the collection.
