Message from elias filali
Through these photos i am inviting you to visit Algeria my homeland,it is not much known to the outside world,Algeria is the 2nd largest country in Africa and the largest chunk of the Sahara desert lays within it's borders,it's coast stretches well over a thousand kilometres and it comprises some of the most beautifull beaches in the Mediteraneen and the world and much of it remain unexploited ,Algeria has got a very rich history, the beauty of it's land and it's strategic location in the world map and above all it's abundant wealth made it the envy of the world, especially those across the mediteraneen sea,Algeria was invaded and occupied by the Phoeniciens ,the Vandals, the Romans ,the Spaniards and the worst and the longest was the french occupation which lasted over 132 years (1830-1962)during this brutal occupation Algeria was raped,it's people were exploited and their land was seized by france the colonial power at the time ,and given to the newly arrived settlers from europe ,while they thrived and the quality of their living standards were enhanced,Algerians lived in abject poverty and were denied access to proper jobs and decent education, the whole population was enslaved in their own land,Algerians could not live with this situation any longer and could not accept the status quo, revolted againt the empire that was allegedly supposed to have come on a mission of civilisation ,the war of liberation began in november 1954 seven years later Algeria was liberated after fighting one of the dirtiest wars in the 20th century,1.5milion algerians died in the process of liberating their country, among them three of my uncles and many close relatives, despite all this mayhem, france is still living in denial about the attrocities and it's war crimes and crimes against humanity committed against Algeria and it's people.much of africa was liberated because of he domino effect the algerian war has caused,i take this opportunity to thank all the french men and women such as Frantz Fanon ,Maurice Audin and every one that participated in he algerian revolution and assisted the people of Algeria to liberate their land from the french occupiers, today algeria is still recovering from that bloody nightmare ,algerians are facing a great challenge in these uncertain and volatile era,the future of algeria depends upon it's people and mainly it's youth which account for about 75% of the whole population, and i am sure they will succeed in building a strong and a modern country as they succeeded in the war of liberation,it can happen , for it has all the means both human and financial resources to be a developed country
welcome to beautiful algeria and enjoy browsing through my galleries ,i hope you will like it ,and if you decide to come to Algeria you are welcome amongst us we are one of the most generous people on the face of the earth
salam to all.
