I've bought this lens - mainly for low light work. But this brilliant gallery shows what can be done with a 'standard' lens. Very impressive, well done!

You sure got yourself a good lense, I wish I had bought the 50mm f1.8 instead of the pricy 50mm f1.4

Hi Jeremy. A good strong gallery showing off the world's greatest value little lens. I really like this lens as a tourist lens with my rebel. It is so light and you can get a good focus in dark light. Also great as a night photo lens. It is fabulous to use, for example with those bright lights in Vegas. But, if you should every become really fussy, the more expensive variety, the 50mm f/1.4 usm, is worth the extra $200+ dollars. Best Regards, Michael.

Superb gallery, Jeremy. I've just bought a 50mm f/1.8 on eBay (although for my Nikon). If it is half as good as the Canon version, then I think I've made a wonderful purchase (btw - I paid £18 - approx $30)

I think that the 50mm lense has great lightness. This gallery is full of light and colour. I really like it.

Beautiful, joyous shots. I miss my kids - and I miss not having had a digital camera or digital camcorder when my kids were young. You're lucky to have all these, expense-free, to go back to in 10 or 20 years.
