5/16: Breakfast of Champions

I'm joining this week's challenge which is to use only one prime lens all week. See http://www.pbase.com/dazedgonebye/image/43449285 for more information.

Like Gary, I will not be cropping my images to enhance the spirit of the non-zooming thing.

I will also take it one step further by using f1.8 aperture on each shot.

This is oat and honey granola with blackberries, raspberries and blueberries. It tastes a heck of a lot better than an Egg McMuffin.

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Am liking the challenge too, especially the no-cropping part (not that I don't crop the crap out of a lot of my images)...IIRC, Henri Cartier-Bresson insisted that his images never be cropped by his printers. :)

I like your challenge. It's a good way to really get to know a lens too I guess. Oh yeah... I'm hungry.

Please don't do this. There is no reason to loose a potential good picture for a silly restriction, I think that it is better if you use more than one prime lens. This is my humble opinion.

Oh that looks a very healthy breakfast. Will check the challenge out, it seems a very good idea.

This pic is making me hungry. Great detail in the fruit and grains of cereal. Good luck with your challenge.

It makes me hungry ! (12:00 here! time for lunch!)
I like the details in this photo: berries are very sharp, colours are good. Miam!

Um, I like a sausage and biscuit myself. :) Great shot and detail. Like the crop too.

I prefer such a breakfast! It's so good for health. Voted.
Cliff17-May-2005 07:17
Be forewarned that if you eat enough of the breakfast of champions, you may have to crop after all!
Cliff17-May-2005 07:17
Ah ha! But will you be blindfolded, standing on one foot with your hands tied behind your back?
Me neither.
Guest 17-May-2005 04:43
Difficult challenge, but im sure you will do well!
Guest 17-May-2005 04:15

Looks great, Jeremy, but is that a plastic bowl?
Guest 17-May-2005 03:42
That does look yummy.

this looks soooo yummy...
Karen Leaf17-May-2005 01:58
I'll take a lot more blueberries and a large cuppa, please.
This is going to be an interesting week, looking forward to 50 at 1.8
Dan Chusid17-May-2005 01:46
I like more milk and maybe a few strawberries... ;^)
Gary Winters17-May-2005 01:34
Love that bowl, Jeremy! And since you're using 1.8 and ISO 800, you could probably shoot in pitch black! Now then, pass the milk!
Robin Reid17-May-2005 01:15
Excellent. You surpass yourself Sir!
Guest 17-May-2005 01:12
wholesome! pass the milk and the 1.8 !
Chris17-May-2005 00:00
Slide up a cup o' joe beside that hippie trail mix and I am sittin' at the 'Rebel' table for breakfast :)
Vinh Luu16-May-2005 23:44
mmm... i agree, that does look better than an egg mcmuffin... you've got me craving breakfast now, think i'm gonna go grab a bowl. :O~ love the color palette, notably the blue bowl. it's the kind of bowl they'd use on the cover of a cereal box.

zooming with your feet is great. such photos tend to come out much better. i'm a fan of primes.

Nice healthy start to the day, and you got your PaD taken care of so you wouldn't have to worry about it all day....smart thinking!
Cheryl Hawkins16-May-2005 23:34
Oh, this looks yummy.
It sounds like a fun challenge, maybe I'll join in.
