6/22: Chandelier

I hung this chandelier yesterday. It's hung from a 25 foot high ceiling.
Have you ever stood on a ladder 20 feet off the ground with both hands off the ladder?

I don't want to even thing about it....I hate ladders. However, you did a wonderful job and should be quite pleased!

Beautiful piece ... well worth the drama in securing it! :)

Very Sopranos !

Never have, never will.

Great shot, looks well. Assume someone was holding the ladder? Now there's trust for you

And it's going to your job to clean it :^)

Superb image. Regards the ladder not any more scared of heights, and I used to fly.

And that was just to take the picture!

Great focus and the skew gives it that off balance look you describe in the commentary. Excellent desaturation & Contrast
Guest 23-Jun-2005 18:08
great angle- hope it's not from you falling backwards off the ladder;-)
brave, brave man

Two steps up and my knees are knocking! I like this shot; great angle too.

Can't say I have...nor do I wish too.

There is something 'Hitchcock-ian' about this chandelier and the angle it's presented at. Maybe the movie 'Vertigo'? Putting it up, a thriller for sure!

Scary ladder work. Did you swing from the chandelier afterwards? Nice chandelier.
Guest 23-Jun-2005 13:15
Ah! I would never have done it! I'm afraid to stay on a 6 foot high ladder without holding it.
I like this photo, with the angle and beautiful black and white tones.

It seems a bit dangerous Jeremy! And both hands off the ladder! Are you crazy??
By the way I must say that it is a very beautiful chandelier.
Nice choice the b&w and the angle. With this angle is more unconventional and artistic.

Great photo--the dutch angle gives it a haunted house quality.

I like the angle and the chandalier is lovely. Glad you didn't fall or drop it. :)
Guest 23-Jun-2005 07:53
very grand but i think you need to climb up and straighten it a tad. :P
Guest 23-Jun-2005 07:27
I did it this winter. Had to climb up the ladder and chip ice of the roof. Thought I was going to break my neck. Nice photo. I like it in B&W.

I once decided it would be smart to work alone on a patio cover on a weekday when the whole neighborhood was at work. I hoisted up a 6x10x20' (or something similar) and got it into the bracket on the right, but not on the left. And now I was stuck up on the ladder...the beam wouldn't budge, and there was no one around to shout for. Ugh.

Oh, by the way, neat chandelier, but I'm pretty sure it's not hanging straight. LOL

I like this feeling of instability that comes out of the picture. I think that it will take long for you to get over this experience!
Guest 23-Jun-2005 06:24
Yes. Once.

That was fun until I almost landed myself into the hospital.
