5/18: Hummer Heaven

They were doing Humvee Sales training at a site near where I work.
These brand new H3s were all lined up ready for action.
I cropped this because the background was blown out due to my camera problems.

Thanks for all the leads on the dollhouse murder yesterday. The tips have been turned over to the authorities.
Check back later this week for possible updates.

They average 17 mpg and average $30,000 about the same as nice pickup!
Guest 31-May-2005 02:28
That's alot of Hummers. Can you imagine how much gas all of these would guzzle up?
Guest 21-May-2005 23:23
Nice black and white. What colours were the cars?

A beautiful simple shot

Fossil fuel eaters... the graphic effect is great, though.

Great capture, Jeremy and perfect for sepia
J. Scott Coile20-May-2005 15:24
Great composition and patterning. There is an add in this one!
Guest 20-May-2005 06:09
Love the symmetry. Very well done.
Rochelle Weiss20-May-2005 03:35
Great capture, Jeremy. I like the symmetry of the headlights, fenders, tires, mirrors, all working together. Great contrast as well. If there was even one Lexus in there, I almost would have felt like I was in West Des Moines at the parking lot of our new mall!

My daughter (the enviro-hippie) would have nothing but disdain for this! She hates these things - I, being alpha-male, would give small body parts for one! Cool shot.

I think I know what you mean by a hummer! Love the perspective here and of course the tyre patterns.
Guest 19-May-2005 23:04
Very cool shot - i want a Hummer really bad - maybe one day..lol.
northstar3719-May-2005 22:47
They need a bit of fine tuning on the old aerodynamics, there.
David Clunas19-May-2005 22:38
crazy shot, couldn't have lined them up any better!
Guest 19-May-2005 22:10
That lot could flatten the developed world! Nice repetition
Guest 19-May-2005 21:10
Brilliant!..love the mirror type imaging..and the great line down the road..
jlm19-May-2005 21:07
A good angle
Guest 19-May-2005 21:01
Excellent. Strange how they almost seem to be floating - not something I would associate with a Hummer!
Antonis Sarantos19-May-2005 20:16
Wow!!! Voted.
uofmtiger19-May-2005 16:31

pretty good salvage. why aren't you fixing your camera?
Chris Sofopoulos19-May-2005 09:34
Excellent contrast Jeremy. I think is just excellent. The tones work very well too. NIce catch. The cropping is perfect for me. Great compo.
Guest 19-May-2005 09:21
That´s some Hummer line alright..
Vinh Luu19-May-2005 06:00
well done. i always love this angle and repetition.
Gary Winters19-May-2005 04:43
You sure you didn't do this with mirrors somehow? Great repeating shot of a car I love to loathe...
Guest 19-May-2005 04:21
Wonderful shot ... a small (and big) boy's dream! It does look faintly sinister to me, tho! :)
Guest 19-May-2005 04:14
Nice.. I like the repetition... it does have a bit of a warlike feel....
Guest 19-May-2005 04:09
Almost a scary, warlike image. Very nicely done.
Mindy McNaugher19-May-2005 04:01
Love your perspective!
Di19-May-2005 03:46
Perfect perspective!
Guest 19-May-2005 03:37
amazing perspective,Jeremy
excellent
Guest 19-May-2005 03:17
I've done more 4 wheelin' in a '89 Pontiac than most of these H3s will ever experience. I just wish I had the cash NOT to buy one of these.
Nice repeating pattern shot.
Guest 19-May-2005 03:06
Very well done! I like this repetition (it is surprising)
JeremyGood19-May-2005 02:55
Oh, Chris probably thought it was about hummingbirds.
Donna Lear19-May-2005 02:53
Bad, Chris, bad. Very cool shot, Jeremy. I - of course - did NOT think it was about anything else, even after reading what Chris wrote. Pure. Pure thoughts only. ;-)
Chris19-May-2005 02:45
When I saw the caption, I thought this was going to be an entirely different subject. Still, nice shot. Cool depth of focus.
Robin Reid19-May-2005 02:42
Impressive line up ... makes my blood boil! Good use of your camera with the limitations you are fighting.
Karen Leaf19-May-2005 02:39
Slick shot Jeremy. What's up with your camera??
Al Varland19-May-2005 02:36
I can't believe you talked them all into lining up for you...seriously, we had a "convention" of them here last fall and it was an impressive sight...I'd rather have a $75,000 camera tho.
