(apalis goslingi)
The Gosling's Apalis is a rather nondescript grey apalis which is range restricted to northern Gabon, Congo and southern CAR with a disjoint population in Cameroon. Within these areas it is locally common most often found in thickets along rivers in lowland forest. We spent some time looking for this bird near Makokou at a spot where one would regularly call back to us but would not show itself. We then stumbled into this bird by the 'Three Bridges' on the Zadie River as we stopped for a break on our drive to the Picathartes site.
