Bhimber has been a district since 1996, situated 50Km from Mirpur. The area is very rich in archaeological remains. Bhimber falls on on the route that was followed by the Moghul rulers of India for their frequent visits to the Kashmir Valley.

My grand father Master Chiraghdin used to teach at the Govt High School Manawar before migrating 1947 to Tanda in Gujrat, Pakistan. Does anyone have any pictures of the school itself or Manawar. Hi friends ! I belong to a Jat Family that used to reside in a Village Called Kherowal Pre-1971 .At Present this village is known to be in Tehsil :Barnala., Distt:-bhimber, Ajad- Kashmir. The memories of this place are till date held firmly in talks of my father and grandfather .Most of time when they visit me and see me surfing internet ; their curiosity to peak back into that so called unforgettable past lingers out . They spend their hours of leisure time just inquire about the updates that ironically never gets updated. I have spend plenty of hours in row, stayed awake late nites to look for getting a mere perception of that cupid past. When I read your comments I thought there will be a college in Manawar now as it used to be high school so many year ago but things have gone down and Manawar High School where your father used to go is now Primary school and there is Middle school in Koil and another one in Phagla (near Koil Moil). The only High School in the nearby area is Kot Jaimel. Anyway the building must be the same where your father used to sit. After knowing you I am exited to go there again but I think I’ll have to wait for another 2 years as I just came back from Pakistan and will not be able to go there due to work and family commitments. By the way when did your family moved out of this area and how old is your dad? Was it in 1947 or 1965 as most of the people moved out in 1965? If it was 1965 then I will be able to find many people who may know your family. Please convey my regards to your family. And keep in touch.

I have been to the area quite recently (I went to Pakistan in May this year and came back to England on 23 July). Along with some other friends of mine, I visited the area your ancestors used to live in. We had mango parties there and I was told that these mango trees were planted by the people who have migrated to India. I was astonished to know how thoughtful the people of those times were. They did something useful which is continuously providing benefits for so many generations. I just went into the past thinking of the people of that time. The water is still scarce in that area and I wondered how they managed to plant so many trees without water. I then visited other areas (like Samani, Baghsar, Naali etc) for mango parties and found out that all the mango trees were over 100 years old. Anyway please convey my modest and humble regards to your family especially to your dad and uncles who must be still missing there birth place. The piece of land I have got in Bhimber belonged to Rajkumar in the past. His grandson came to visit Bhimber in 1998 but unfortunately I was in England at that time. I would have loved to meet with him as his grandfather used to walk and sit in the same area where I walk and sit now.

Thank you very much for enriching my knowledge. My father's name is Jagdish Raj. They are three brothers yourgers are Mohan Lal and Joginder. My Grand father's name is Bhagat Ram . My Grandfather was a teacher who served in Schools of Khoiratta,Lamberi and Seri etc. Anybody knowing please do write your comments. My warm regards to all Bhimbrians persons from Koil Moil.

In response to Bharat Bhushan,s comments regarding Kolamola, I belong to Bhimber and now living in the UK. There is a place called Koil Moil (Not Kolamola as you mentioned). I am sure you are talking about Koil Moil. It is few kilometres away from the Indo-Pak border and many people migrated to India from this place. All other places you mentioned in your comments are in the same area.

I have gone through the comments of one Poonam Uppal who is searching for village Ambreyala in Bhimber. Dear Poonam as your father belongs to Bhimber and they shifted to Mumbai during partition. Similarly my elders belong to Village Kolamola which is also in Bhimber I have'nt found any comments about "Kolamola". Any body knowing about Kolamola, Please do write some thing. I am waiting Please. As far as Ambereyala is concerned I know a little bit about this village there are some families hailing from Ambreyala who are known to us. Morever my father usually talks about these villages, Ambreyala, Chakan Pandtan,Deva Batala and so many other villages. salaam 2 u all. bhimber city is my home town. at moment i m living abroad for 3 years. wen i was living in bhimber i did not like it very much BUT for the past 3 years i hav missed it aloooooooooooooooot n i realised there is no place like home, now all i think about is when i will be going back home. i would like to say to those people living in Bhimber that they are very lucky and they should look after Bhimber and try to develop it so that one day it can become a lovely place to visit for out siders. am not saying that its not a lovely place at the moment but that it becomes more lovely. thanks
