Beginning in 1910, Mexicans engaged in a decade-long revolution and in November 2009 the students of Zihuatanejo acknowledged, with a colourful parade, the 99 years that have passed since it began. What, for a photographer, could be more endearing than children and teens dressed in celebratory garb, from suited and “bearded” revolutionaries, barely six years old, to teens with “deer headgear” celebrating the Yaqui Indian heritage… and hundreds of others celebrating the benefits of their education. Thanks to the staff of Royal Holidays who alerted us to the parade and bussed us there from Ixtapa.
