Point Reyes, with its constant wind and prominent lighthouse on the headland jutting into the Pacific Ocean, presented us with black-tailed deer, elephant seals, harbour seals, sea lions, common murres, a peregrine falcon, wild turkeys, sooty shearwaters, a gray whale migrating north and a myriad of other mammals and birds. We didn't see the tule elk on our brief visit, but I'm sure that this wonderful destination at the Point Reyes National Seashore, northwest of San Francisco will provide us with future photo opportunities.
