We started the day with a complimentary breakfast at our hotel. Next, we went for a wonderful, relaxing, "couples massage" at the Ivy Day Spa at the Town Center Mall in Valencia. Afterwards, Mike and Ellen met us at the hotel and we went to lunch at the fabulous Egg Plantation restaurant in Newhall. Then it was time for our trip to Six Flags Magic Mountain. To be truthful, none of us are "roller coaster people," and Magic Mountain didn't offer much else for us. (Our visit there was several weeks before news broke about a woman being hurled from the Texas Giant roller coaster at Six Flags in Arlington, Texas.) Mike, Ellen and I did ride the relatively mild Roaring Rapids and Judy and I later rode the elevator to the top of the 385 foot Sky Tower for some great views of the park and surrounding area. But the best feature of the park might have been the misting stations where we could cool ourselves off on this hot 90+ degree day. We ended our day with a nice dinner and good conversation at the Salt Creek Grille in Valencia. |
