| This day we departed Disneyland and the Grand Californian and drove to Santa Clarita/Valencia via Burbank, where we visited with family members Ron and Jill. We checked into our hotel (a Holiday Inn Express) in Valencia. In nearby Newhall, we strolled along the Walk of Western Stars and looked at murals that decorate local businesses. We bought goodies from vendors at the every-Thursday farmers market. We passed on the Chicharrón (fried pork rinds), but bought delicious peaches at a produce stand and some wonderful Greek vanilla cookies and Greek-style pistachios at the "Homey Goods" tent. We met Zeppie, an extremely friendly bulldog (named after Led Zeppelin), and his person. We stopped at the Alamo Rotisserie in Valencia for a tasty Mexican style chicken dinner and a pitcher of mango margaritas. After that, we were ready to call it a night! |
