Istanbul Modern

When I first visited the Istanbul Modern museum I was delighted, the setting, in a hall that stretches along the Bosporus with wonderful views on one side, and wonderful art on the other, was grandiose. I never took pictures (and have the feeling that used to be forbidden), but in 2015 I saw picture taking was allowed. So I took pictures of some of my favourites, and hope to be adding on future visits. One element I will probably never show are the many high-quality video’s the museum tends to show.

I have done my utmost best to get the pictures in a proper perspective and ditto colours. I think the latter may be a bit too much on the white side, and saturation is always a difficult aspect. Annoying are the shadows on the frames one sees on some pictures, the top few centimeters being darker than the rest. As for resolution I went for 1600 rather than 1200 pixels along the largest side in many cases (in the “original view”), so you can enjoy them a bit more.

The museum has a site.
