First a compliment: rarely does one come across a Turkish museum website that offers as much information as the one of this museum. I used it to add some captions, though I took notes during my visit in 2014. The museum was under partial restoration, more will be on display later. This time around I particularly liked the huge collection of wonderfully ornate "caiques", boats in which sultans or high officials would be rowed to their destination, as well as some spectacular escutcheon. But there is more.
