Tallahassee, FL February 1900

Leaving Punta Rassa, Moore traveled to Tallahassee where he took a few photographs and then purchased a new, larger camera. It is almost a certainty that Moore purchased this camera from Alvin Harper, a highly successful Tallahassee photographer with a portrait studio and a clientele numbering in the tens of thousands. According to the 1904 commercial directory for Tallahassee, Harper’s was the only business in the area that dealt in any way with photography.

Moore returned briefly to Punta Rassa to have lunch with his cousin Clarance and photograph an old cattle barn with his new camera. He then returned to Tallahassee and took a few photos there with his new camera before heading north a few miles to Live Oak Plantation.
