Returning from Alaska, Moore left Seattle and headed for Florida. Along the way he again stopped in Dawson, ND as he had at the end of his Pacific coast fishing trip in 1895. Here he took a photo of “Old Criss”, possibly someone he knew from his previous visit, as well as a prairie fire at Swan Lake, 30 miles to the north. He then headed south to New Albany, Mississippi, just outside of Memphis, and Brundidge, Alabama, where he took a few photographs before reaching Faceville, Georgia. Here he stayed for a while at the estate of Judge HB Spooner to do some quail hunting and to photograph the black families living on and about the estate.
