Cornographic *
by Jon Stern

From its earliest days, photography was used to create and distribute cornographic images.
To some, these nude images were merely a continuation of a long artistic tradition.
But to others they represented a dangerous social trend towards ever looser morals.

LOL! You could take this idea and make a website aboute it! This is humor with a sting. Great idea. /Designboy

Very interesting take on the theme Jon. Would also be perfect for a Challenge Theme entitled, "Undressing". :-)

Cheers. Vikas.
PS Would love to get this lens too but out of my budget right now. Sigh! :-(

Yes, it's the shadows! - Jon S

I wish I had seen the preshadows version, because my comment was going to be that it looks like USM with radius of, say 30 or 40 or so was used with too strong a setting. After having read the comments, I think it is just the mentioned shadows that I'm seeing. -- Victor

Jon, shadow and color-enhancement are both great improvements. Well done! --Olaf

p.s. Olaf, I love this lens. I actually got it used from a guy at work who wasn't using it, so it was a bargain! It's extremely sharp, renders great colours and has very nice bokeh. - Jon S.

Ok, I've added some shadows now. I also took the opportunity to change the colour of the corn to make it closer to what people expect it to be (the corn I had was fairly white). - Jon S

Yes, I too think corn does have a very graphic quality. I'll look in to changing the "floating in space" aspect of this image. I did it partly to simplify the image and partly because I wasn't happy with the look of the blue fabric I shot against. - Jon S

Hey, you are one challenge behind - "interior" was in challenge 23! Just kidding of course, but it would have been fitting in that challenge as well. The repetition of the three images help in making this graphic. I bet one could make a bunch of very different graphic photos with corn on the cob, they have a graphic quality built-right-in, in their design! One thing that strikes me here (*), is that the corn seems to be floating in space - some kind of contact-shadow seems to be missing. BTW, how do like that lens? I have one of those on my wish-list! PS. Timestamp on Anders' comment below is wrong as I deleted it and reposted - sorry about that! --Olaf

Uhh, don't know what to say... maybe "corny"? :-D
Nicely done!
