Of cause its no use to compare ISO perfomances and resolution with 20-30-40 Dees, BUT the ergonomics of 10TH is so perfect, as you may get only from 1D series, if you are not amateur in DSLR-world find one of 10D in good condition, take time to set parameters correctly and youll receive even better image than 20-30-40D(not in terms of resolution of cause), but sharpness and Dynamic Range, because pixel is bigger. GOOD Camera, very good even for 2008. and as a joke - i proud that it does not accept EF-S cropped lenses :) Mirror - so BIG! Shutter sound and mirror release softness - BEST trough xxDs, i compared this myself and approved.

love 10Ds and sold then on ebay long ago, took crispy sharp pictures without post pressing through CS2, sharper than 30D, 40D, even 1DMARKII/III, but full framed EOS 5D, 10D has slow startup and writing speed, otherwise it is best camera in this class. forget 300D which has slowest wrting speed though ISO performance is better than 10D. I highly recommended 10d to everyone.

I own 2 10Ds and a 5D. Granted, I much prefer to shoot my 5D but every now and then, the 10Ds go where I wouldn't take my 5D and they still do very fine work.

Since the 10D, 'ergonomics' has gone out the window. The 20D and 30D are so small compared to the 10D and for me the 10D produces a much sharper image with it's 6 MP sensor. Still shooting with my 10D, and no complaints. 2 secs startup don't bother me at all.

Nice build qaulity , not tought like a DCS520 but i think it could take some drops and hits with no issue. Not to terrible out put as well and a bargain at its used price now.

Most of my galleries were shot with a 10D and a 28-135 3.5/5.6 IS, 17-40 f/4 L and a 70-200 f/4 L. My first real digital camera was a Canon D30. I upgraded to the 10D and used that for about a year and a half, but now I shoot with a 1D Mark 2. Check me out.

I like the 10D's grip better than the 20D's...used both 10D and 20D and cannot be more satisfied.

It's amazing the variety of opinions you get on this camera. I am very pleased with the images the 10D captures.

The Canon EOS 10D is a terrific camera in every respect and just can't be faulted in any way which is of any real consequence as the camera itself is being offered at a price now whaich makes the price of previous (and present) 'Pro' cameras look almost unjustified.

Too late to reccomend this camera since it was replaced by the 20D. But I don't regret buying this. In fact I started with the famous Digital Rebel, but it had limits in terms of control and capability. I sold the Digital Rebel for get this and I don't regret it. It has served me well and I am satisfied. It will be my frontline camera for a long time to come.

My 10D has done me right. Need some better lenes now, after that I might look at upgrading to the 20D or whatever is new at that time.

I would prob agree with the 300d if you don't need the couple of higher level bells and whistles on the 10d / 20d. They are few but substantial in special circumstances. the 10d just felt better in my hand, more solid.

Greg,
Do us all a favor, and realize that some people want to spend the additional money to get a better camera. You can put the same transmition, engine, etc. in a Honda Civic and a BMW Z3, but I assure you some of us would rather have the Z3 with a few extra bells and whistles.

I reccomend get the digital rebel 300D instead of the 10D, it churns out shots just as good as the 10D but it is much lower in price.

I have many tests here of this camera and it's equipment here:

Also many pictures I have taken with this camera:
