Following the snow https://pbase.com/britestar/image/171617781, temperatures dropped into the low 20's.
When the weather pendulum swung the other way - the snow melted & things got back into the 50's again - this was what was left of the flowers on the Spring trees. The next day, the wind picked up, and all of these flowers were gone. Luckily, the unseasonably, late, heavy snow didn't break any branches on the trees. Nor did it effect the leaves on the trees. The snow and the extreme cold merely damaged (and put an end to) the flowers that were on the flowering trees.
