Various Birds - Raptors

advanced web statistics
Sparrow Hawk looking for a meal. Actually two, a male and a female, drop by regularily in winter to look for sparrows and other birds. The male dives into the shrub after the sparrows, that's quite a sight! He's very determined and fast. Magnificent birds, as much as I love songbirds and wish them no harm, I wish these splendid raptors a good meal each day.

On page two, you will find a few shots of this hawk with prey. Not exactly for the faint of heart - I find it sad to see a bird go too. So you're warned! It's not in the least gory though.
