Tourist House Ghiberti photos- our Florence b&b

Some pictures of my personal favorite bed & breakfast place during the Italy trip, for the charm, high-tech conveniences, double Internet in room, patio, floors, cold-drink refrig, in a building where Lorenzo Ghiberti worked on the famous doors of the Baptistery!

The Duomo & Baptistery are only 2 blocks away, and the Uffizi, Accademia, San Marco are a very short walking distance.  I felt as if I lived there, the 3 nights we were there, and I wish it'd been longer.

The amenities are described under the pictures below and they include your own internet pc which prints hard copy at lobby desk, fax machine with direct number, speakers on the beds, headphones as an alternative, and of course air conditioning.  Sparkling clean.  Claudio and Christelle Baroni are the very helpful owners of this one-floor hotel.

See other traveler experiences, along with my review (dated June 18, 2006), at the TripAdvisor Florence BB and hotel pages (great reviews site) and at the Venere site. Don't miss the SUPERB SlowTrav site and its reviews and info on everything Italy especially -- this includes the LIVELY and ultra informative SlowTalk message boards.
For what Tourist House Ghiberti offers, you'd usually pay at least twice the amount elsewhere for that central and colorful locale. Highly recommended.

Still another day to do. I really enjoyed Florence a lot.

My roommate used the Internet pc on that nice desk, and I used the wireless there for my laptop. Phone and Fax lines are direct to the room. All our hotels were excellent, but this was amazing.
Fast Internet computer, room fax, Tuscany art

Claudio even has an anti-bug device you can plug into the wall :-) Lodging here is much lessexpensive than at other hotels in that central locale which offer far less amenities.

This B&B (5 rms available) is on the 2nd flr of an old bldg that is like a loft and dark when you
enter. A small lift takes you to the homey lobby, with long desk, sofa, tv, and kitchen plus patio at the end.
Really nice floor of the room, cool to walk on.

Breakfast was a full one, with cold meat selections, fresh cake. Claudio worked constantly on
the patio plants, and their baby added to the family-owned atmosphere. :-)
Patio outside, great bathroom, spacious shelving

There were about 5 English channels on the satellite tv. Backs of the beds had little
speakers or you could take headphones from the closet. Sauna & jacuzzi available as well!
Just another view of high-ceilinged room
