Montepulciano photos

Pictures from Montepulciano area.  After Pitigliano, we drove to Montepulciano, an Etruscan city sitting atop a limestone ridge, where we stayed at Meublè d'Riccio, a former palazzo, beautifully cared for by owners Giorgio and Ivana Caroti.  Here is their photogallery, which is a nice tour of the place.  From here, we explored also, Pienza and Cortona.

  Will be adding here a few of Cortona, which we visited from Montepulciano, where we were for almost 3 days.

It's great to see Montepulciano in good weather and also from the top of the Palazzo Communale's tower, that must be pretty much the tip top of the city! Beautiful views!

Thanks for these galleries. My wife and I are making our first visit to Italy in September and are spending 5 nights in Montepulciano. We are also staying at Meuble d'Riccio, and your photos are great to look at it. Thanks for sharing!

Ron, thank you. Very glad you enjoyed these after coming back from there. Re Cortona,
I still have not uploaded (as of today) Cortona or Volterra but will soon. I hope you get to
return there!
Also, a thanks to JohnR, whose note is private but who will be staying at Meuble Il
Riccio too before spending time later at a converted farm guest house in Monticatini
Terme. I hope to see some photos from there, especially from someone who loves
Tuscany so much that he and his wife have been there 5 trips in a row now :-) though
they normally have not, in the past, visited the same place twice.

Great Italy Pictures!!!!!! I just returned from a 3 week road trip through Italy. I fell in love with the country, especially the small villages. I spent 7 days in Cortona during the off season watching the locals in action. It was just like one of your comments that went something like "the people here rush less and laugh more." Thanks for the reminder of the beauty of the small villages. We were in about 5 of the same villages, and again your pictures are great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ron From Santa Cruz , CA
