Shirakami-Sanchi is a national natural conservation area and a World Heritage site, located near the northwest corner of the main Japanese island of Honshu. Taking a bus tour there from Sendai will cost you @ $170 per person, and take you along a marvelous Sea of Japan coastal road that will put you in sight of Hokkaido!

The site is renowned for its many lakes, located high up in the mountains, some of which are a very vivid and stunning blue and blue-green color.
