The small road, barely more than a courtyard. The compact cars. The earthen tones. The style of the architecture.

I'm not sure that you could get a more quintessentially urban Italian scene than this one. I would have liked to have obeyed the sign and just stopped to take it in, even if only for a few minutes. Unfortunately, as always, our time was measured more in seconds. We had only a handful of hours in Verona, nowhere near enough to really sample the spirit of the place. The tour party had to keep rolling on to the next destination.
