A change of agricultural pace here; no longer do we have just vineyards (though you can still see some on the terraces in the background), but we also have corn.
This surprised me because corn is not a crop that does well in cold temperatures. Although this area is not (as far as I know) subject to snow and ice in winter, the temperatures do drop below zero over December and January. Still, I suppose it is possible to grow corn for the remainder of the year.
The church in the middle of the field speaks volumes of Italy's Catholic heritage.
