Iga, Seki-juku & Kameyama 伊賀、関宿、亀山

A pair of semi-rural cities in the foothills of northwestern Mie-ken, Iga and Kameyama lie on the less-frequented JR Kansai line between Nagoya and Nara. Best known for its historic school of ninjitsu, the rather drab city of Iga attracts many tourists for its ninja-related sights and reconstructed castle. The rail juncture town of Kameyama lies off the map for most foreign visitors to Japan, but is the site of well-preserved Seki-juku, the 47th station on the Edo-period Tōkaidō road.
