Henrichshütte near Hattingen within the valley of the river Ruhr was one of the big industrial factories of our area in the past, producing steel of high quality for special things, like parts of the Ariane rockets for example. Production started about 1854. From 1987 the factory was closed step by step until its final end in 2003. Today Henrichshütte is a great industrial museum and a place for exhibitions and other events. A great place to visit from time to time for good shots and long walks along the river.
