It's always gives me a boost when, after all these years, a comment lets me know that people are still coming by to see a shot that means something to them. Thanks for this one. I'm almost embarrassed to realize now that I myself never wrote anything here about Scott, so I guess I’ll say now that he was funny and smart, actually very funny and very smart, and consequently it was such a pleasure to be around him. And, of course, there was even more to it than that because I came to have a great deal of respect for him too. Littlejohn and I were both profoundly saddened when we heard that he had died

He has two brothers Allen and Parker and a sister Jan Parker lives in Oxnard !Jan and myself live in Sandpoint Idaho .

Wow - thanks for posting these pictures. I went to Anchorage with Scott and he was one of my best friends back then. He went along on a cross-country V.W. van trip with my family when were were around 12 or so. Lovely human being - smart and funny and interesting. Thanks again. - Chris Warshaw

scott was a brother to me and he saved my life by showing up in oregon in '81 after i suffered some major amnesia (for real). he would regale people with stories and i would be cracking up and he'd say "you were there, remember?". when he figured out i couldn't remember he sat with me for 2 weeks and made me finish stories that he started until it all started to weave together and my memories started flooding back to me. saved me from the mental ward for sure. i think about him all the time... he was, in my opinion, the most beautiful surfer in venice except for perhaps john baum. dov

Scott was one of my best friends. I miss him. He really was THE funniest. He also made you think too. In my memorial letter, I couldn't be there, I said that perhaps Scott was too good for this world. He had such sharp mind. I think he saw through the BS and rejected it. Many people loved him. How could you not?

Yeah, he was THE funniest.... My face hurt from laughing so much hanging around Scott. I loved that dude. RIP.

Scott was my best surf buddy, we both just loved to surf. I think what is forgotten now with all the attention on the Dogtown movie and skateboarding was that at least back in the mid 70's, it was not about the skateboarding so much, it was all about surfing. skateboarding was something you did when the waves were junk. which unfortunately was quite a lot of the time there. Anyway, Scott was a die-hard surfer, he would go out in anything, what a great guy. I went back after being gone for almost 30 years, went into the old zephyr shop and found out he had passed. A salute to a beautiful person.

Scott Hermann was not one of the funniest but simply the funniest person I have ever known. He was smart and a pretty damn good surfer, too. I miss Scott.
